The Requirements

To meet the basic qualifications for this role you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Wethose Driver opportunity, you will:
  • Have and maintain a current California commercial motor vehicle operator's license (Class B or A) with hazardous materials and tanker endorsements. 
  • Have and maintain a clean driving record (1 point or less) and report any vehicle code violations to the safety manager (we'll ask you to provide a DMV H-6 report).  Quick question for you - click here
  • Submit to and pass an initial DOT physical and drug screen prior to performing any driving duties, and maintain a current medical card in compliance with state and Federal Motor Carrier Regulations.

  • Be able to read and speak English adequately to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, to make entries on reports and records, and to adequately receive instructions from dispatch.
  • Have the ability to work in a trucking and distribution environment around heavy equipment and hazardous materials. The specific work environment varies depending on customer location.
  • Experience driving liquids is strongly preferred; experience with fuel would be ideal.
This is a physically demanding position. You must be physically capable of performing all duties relating to this position, including the ability to lift and pull up to 75 pounds, bend, climb, stoop and sit as required to deliver product to our customers. Our drivers typically work 10- to 12-hour shifts. We have Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday through Thursday schedules available, with start times of 3PM. The Role

You will join a team of drivers who primarily transport liquids and fuels. Your routes will be local, rarely as long as 50 miles one way. A route will include several stops, and on some shifts, you may make a delivery, come back and reload for additional deliveries. Our customers include industrial users, retail oil change facilities and agriculture facilities.

You'll deliver fuel to company facilities and customers as assigned, in accordance with company procedures. We'll expect you to perform work safely and in compliance with all customer, local, state, and federal guidelines. 

More specifically, you will:
  • Operate company vehicles in accordance with company regulations, state and federal laws, and customer policies.
  • Conduct assigned duties while following all proper safety procedures.
  • Perform pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report all defects to the maintenance department.
  • Understand state and federal regulations concerning hours worked and transporting hazardous materials, and notify the company if a potential violation may occur.
  • Load and make deliveries in accordance with guidelines, including proper use of safety equipment, and follow established procedures at loading and delivery locations.
  • Work efficiently to complete delivery schedule as assigned. If any problems occur that could result in missed or delayed deliveries, report them to Dispatch.
  • Complete all required documentation to account for time worked and locations and products delivered, and record tank reading information to verify delivery.
  • Work in constantly changing environments, leveraging your ability to be flexible in job duties while maintaining proper safety and loading procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers, dispatchers and company supervisors.
  • Work responsibly with a minimum amount of supervision.
  • Report any off-site safety concerns to dispatch in a timely manner.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
